The five maturity levels of logistics digitalisation
The maturity level describes how strongly data, automation and intelligent control are integrated into everyday logistics. It ranges from purely reactive, manual processes to largely autonomous, data-driven control. The check is a self-assessment and serves to determine your current position.
| Level | Maturity level | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Reactive | Predominantly manual, siloed solutions, reaction instead of planning |
| 2 | Defined | Processes documented, first systems, isolated metrics |
| 3 | Connected | Systems connected, core processes automated, ongoing reporting |
| 4 | Data-driven | Decisions data-based, forecasts, high transparency |
| 5 | Autonomous | Self-controlling processes, AI assistance, exception handling |
Self-assessment for orientation purposes – not an audit or certification. The dimensions are weighted equally.
